How Does Our E-Waste Service Work?
1. Complete a Request a Quote form on the IT Collect website or call us on 1300 33 44 56 and one of our helpful Customer Service Operators will assist you.
2. We will ask you about the type of electronic waste items you need to dispose of, the volume and access (upstairs, downstairs, storage unit, garage, office, home, back shed etc.)
3. We then work out a convenient time and provide you with a one hour window when your IT Collect Operator will arrive.
4. We base our pricing on the distance to drive, weight, volume of items, access and availability. The pricing is similar to the cost of standard courier/taxi service without you having to do any of the work. Volume discounts apply to larger jobs.
5. One of our secure IT Collect vehicles will come to your nominated location – all you need to do is identify what needs to be collected and our IT Collect Operator(s) will do the rest.
6. We will make a list of the e-waste items to be recycled, secure them in the vehicle and take them to our recycling partner.
7. E-waste items are disassembled and the various components are sorted into appropriate recycling streams.
8. Components holding data are shredded e.g. hard drives, solid state drives, memory chips etc.
9. Batteries are removed and recycled to approved environmental standards.
10. Printer/fax toner/ink cartridges are removed and recycled.
11. The remaining plastic, glass and metal components are shredded and sorted into their correct recycling streams.
12. IT Collect partners with some of Australia’s most experienced recycling companies where responsible and ethical recycling is supported by Quality Management System ISO 9001, Environmental Management System ISO 14001, Management of E-Waste AS/NZS 5377 Occupational Health and Safety Management System AS/NZS 4801. Their extensive network of downstream recycling partners means that 92-95% of all materials will be recycled.

With IT Collect your Confidential Information is SECURE. You no longer have to risk leaving your electronic goods at the local government transfer station, a retailer’s recycling bin or out on the nature strip where the next person that comes along can take them. Additionally, IT Collect ensures that your electronic waste recycling items are not bundled up and on-sold to be refurbished and resold overseas.
Donation to Charity
You have the choice to nominate items to be donated to local charities if they are still in good condition and usually less than 3 years old. We would never recommend you donate items like laptops or computer towers that hold your personal data.
Certificate of Destruction
We provide you with a Certificate of Destruction confirming that your items have been destroyed (there is an additional fee if you need an itemised certificate with serial numbers etc. recorded).
